Whether you are aspiring to become a professional, or just want to pursue your interest in ceramics - we’ll support you with truly affordable studio space, access to top-quality equipment and technical advice.

Looking to take the next step on from courses, work independently, spend time developing your technique and exploring your own ideas in either throwing, handbuilding or both?

We have plans to suit your time and budget…

  • HOBBYIST - up to 5hrs per week, £100/month*

  • IMPROVER - up to 15hrs per week, £160/month*

  • ADVANCED - up to 25hrs per week, £250/month*

We welcome applications from those who have attended a course with us or somewhere else, and feel confident to work independently and safely in a ceramic studio.

* With all memberships, there’s 3 months’ minimum contract term and 2 months’ notice period

Technician Exchange - OPEN for applications

Aimed at experienced makers and ceramicists who are looking to help in a busy studio in return for studio membership.

Our membership plans include…

  • Access to all studio equipment including a slab roller, wall-mounted extruder and dies, and 6x Shimpo Potters’ Wheels, banding wheels, slab and press moulds, tile cutters, a selection of modelling/decorating/throwing tools and brushes, and other useful bits and bobs

  • Large dedicated storage shelf for your tools, equipment and materials

  • Access to communal shelving to store your work in progress, green, bisque and glaze wares

  • Studio equipment and Health & Safety inductions, plus optional kiln training

  • Bookable handbuilding and throwing Technical Support sessions to help you develop your making and studio craft, with 10% discount on our Tasters, Workshops and Courses

  • Exhibition opportunities as part of our open studio events, along with a website profile page with links to your website/socials, and posts on our Instagram account promoting your work

  • Access to a vibrant studio community of ceramic artists and makers for you to talk to, collaborate with and learn from, as well as an exciting arts community at Marsh Farm including fine metals, metalworking, woodworking and glass blowers

  • Access to a variety of ceramics-focussed studio trips and excursions

  • Fully equipped kitchen with hot water, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, plus a generous kitchen table and stools for lunchtimes

  • WC facilities with hot water and hot air hand dryer
